In recent years the popularity of the electrically operated vehicle has increased. There are different ways by which the vehicle can be charged; they can be charged at home or at a charging station. The charging process with the help of a domestic power supply is very time consuming and building a charging station is very expensive as well as occupies a lot of space. It also has much technological efficiency and because of that, it is many times not able to fulfil the demands of the market. To overcome these deficiencies a circular vertical three-dimensional mechanical garage has been invented. These not only function as a garage for the conventional automobiles but also serve as a charging station for the conventional automobiles.
Functioning
A slip ring is used to help in the charging process of the conventional automobile. They help in the continuous charging without worry of the cars wires wrapping of the car's hanging basket as they have a continuous rotation of 360 degrees. They provided various signals transmission like Ethernet, USB, CANBUS, etc. They are capable to transmit different types of signals simultaneously
Advanced Brushes for Stable Transmission
The contact brushes that are used are made of advanced fiber brush technology or precious metal. This helps in providing even transmission without loss of transmission. The brushes are furthermore insulated from each other with the help of insulating material so that there is no interference in the transmission for the signals and the transmission is precise.
Maintenance Free
The brushes are placed in insulation over the conductive rings to facilitate the transmission and minimize cross connection and delay or obstruction in transmission. The surface of the conductive rings is polished and smoothened so as to minimize friction of the brushes on the rings. This is also achieved to some extent by the use of advanced fibre brush technology or precious metal for the brushes. This helps in reducing corrosion of the rings and the bushes. The pressure of the brushes on the rings also a factor for the corrosion, so the pressure is minimal and the brush holders are mounted on springs to make them flexible.
Long Service Life
The dust due to friction is less and this reduces the cost of maintenance and requirement of replacement of the brushes is less. This also helps in reduction of the electrical noise of in the rotary slip ring. These features, in turn, make the slip rings more reliable for industrial use. The low maintenance of the slip rings and reduction in corrosion of the slip rings helps to provide a long service life to the arrangement.
The slip rings have many advantages and so are being extensively used in many devices. From household appliances to industrial equipment; slip rings have shown how useful they can be.
